Infrastructure of Oncology Data Technology: Navigating the Complex, Regulated World of Healthcare Research
Building technology for oncology data requires scaling quickly, but that's not nearly as essential as maintaining HIPAA compliance, security and safety in our architecture. Health data carries a variety of risks and the services available to HIPAA compliant companies are limited as a consequence. This talk will cover how Flatiron Health navigates those risks and uses these services to accelerate cancer research and improve cancer care.

Lauren Ellsworth is a Senior Software Engineer at Flatiron Health, a company working to accelerate cancer research and improve cancer care. In her years of development, Lauren has contributed to a half dozen analytics platforms, software that aids in facial recognition of lions, and foster care case management software, among others. Currently, Lauren is scaling engineering onboarding at Flatiron Health, while developing agile and secure services on the Developer Infrastructure team.
